Daily life comes with frustration.

It is easy to complain and be annoyed about the inconveniences of the day.

It is harder to understand, and let go of those feelings to appreciate the people we have in our lives and the privileges many of us experience.. but if we can do that, then we are on our way to a much happier reality.

Living life to its fullest requires a very deep involvement.
The key to living a well-rounded and successful life is measuring how fully we experience it day in and day out.

It’s about listening, not waiting for your turn to speak. It’s about being intentionally grateful and having a thankful attitude every day, even towards challenges and hardships. Studies show that when you deliberately pursue an appreciation for the goodness in your life, the result is an increase in your well-being and happiness. Intentional thankfulness opens your perspective and increases productivity when practiced daily.

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” ~Robert Braul

Here are some tips to help you Take Back your Power and reflect on the things you’re most grateful for:

  • One of the best ways to reflect on your day is to ask everyone to go around the dinner table and share the best thing that happened for them that day. This is an impactful way to teach children gratitude, and also share your own. Even on a really hard day, the practice gives value to reflecting back to find something good. It is is a great way to gain perspective and insight into everyone’s day, including your own!
  • Make a gratitude journal or jar. When you write down a good thing at the end of the day, it helps to solidify positive experiences, and gives a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day—and this way, when you think you have a bad day, you can look back at your positive notes to help you gain perspective.

We can live happier, fuller lives by analyzing our intentions, who we spend our precious time with, and how we approach challenges in our lives. When we begin to self-reflect with intention, it’s much easier to become grateful for the sum of the experiences we have had, the hardships we have overcome, and the people in our lives. Our lives become much richer when we choose to build gratitude into our routines and show it by giving our time, effort and thanks to others.
